Catherine became a yoga student in 1995 after teaching group aerobic dance classes for 12 years. She was quickly captivated by the transformative power of yoga on both the body and the mind. As a student, she enjoys all forms of yoga and her personal practice takes the form of whatever her body and mind need that day.
As a Vinyasa I yoga teacher Catherine aims to provide students with safe and accessible classes using props and pose variations to meet each student where they are in their practice. From beginners looking for a gentle and thorough introduction to yoga to students looking for a modest flow, her aim is to create a space to explore and learn.
Catherine retired last year after decades in the pharmaceutical industry and a painful daily commute from Annapolis to DC each weekday. She is thrilled to be teaching at Blue Lotus Yoga Studio! And an added bonus...she can finally fulfill a dream of riding her bike to work.
Catherine is a RYT-200 hour yoga teacher. She received her certification through Jason Crandell's Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training. She lives in Eastport with her husband Vic.
