Julie is an E-RYT 200 and Co-Founder/Owner of Blue Lotus Yoga Studio in Annapolis, Maryland. A former gymnast and choreographer, Julie started taking yoga classes in the early 2000s with Gregor Singleton at the Baron Baptiste studio in Boston. She was immediately struck by the challenging nature of the practice, both physically and emotionally. Today she relies on her consistent yoga practice to maintain some semblance of calm in her busy life.
Julie received her RYT 200-hour certification through Charm City Yoga (now YogaWorks) in 2014, and an additional 50 hours of Yin training led by TJ Maher in 2017. She is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) who has trained with influential teachers, including Kim Manfredi, Seane Corn, and Kathryn Budig. Julie is currently a student in the BLYS 300-hr Advanced Teacher Training program led by Kate Curry.
In addition to running the day-to-day operations of BLYS, Julie leads vinyasa classes to students of all levels, workshops, CEU trainings, and destination retreats. She lives in Annapolis with her husband, their three sons, and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
