Theresa found a connection to yoga 15 years ago while working out at the gym located in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. She found yoga to be helpful in both preventing and healing injuries. She particularly enjoys yoga because of its emphasis on stillness of the mind and the connection of the mind, body and spirit.
Theresa graduated from Blue Heron Yoga Center in Silver Spring in 2013, receiving her 200-hour teaching certification under the direction of Lauren Richardson and Carrie Ganz. That same year she also received her certification for Chair Yoga with Lakshmi Voelker and Tracey Ecceleston at the Open Center in New York City. In 2017, Theresa furthered her yoga training and received her 500-hour certification from YogaWorks under the guidance of Kim Manfredi.
Theresa graduated from the University of Maryland in 2004 with a BS in Legal Studies. She also has an Associates of Arts Degree in Public Administration from the University of the District of Columbia. She has two daughters, one son, and four grandchildren.
