Originally from Buffalo, NY, Kristen made her way to Annapolis in 2006 and fell in love with the boating world, including learning to race on sailboats. She married a sailor from Michigan, and they have two boys. Sports have always been a huge part of Kristen’s life. She grew up running (sprinter and cross country), playing competitive soccer and softball, enjoyed downhill skiing, and went on to play rugby in college and then again on the local Severn River Women’s Rugby team. She is an aspiring tennis player in recent years. Kristen returned to distance running after the birth of her first son and has competed in many 5K, 10K, 10 mile and ½ Marathon races. She also found heightened balance and core strength in yoga which aided in both of her pregnancies and recoveries post delivery. Kristen began YogaWorks Teacher Training at Blue Lotus Yoga Studio in Annapolis when her second baby was 9 months old. Kristen has a passion for helping others, and enjoys teaching people about their own bodies and how to maximize athletic performance, reduce pain, and prevent injuries. Combining her love of sports and helping people perform, whether on their yoga mat at home, crossing the finish line of their next race, or establishing a new personal record, Kristen thrives off of helping people find their best self.
