BLYS holds in-studio yoga and fitness classes, as well as outdoor classes on a floating platform, April through October.

YOGA

BEGINNER YOGA SERIES

New to yoga? This 6-part series is for you! Attendees will learn the basic principals of yoga, the fundamentals of alignment, and mindful breath work. Students can sign up for individual classes or all 6 at a discounted rate.

 

GENTLE YOGA

Gentle Yoga is a soft, well-supported practice. Slowing down transitions and holding poses longer allows yogis to connect with their breath and relax their minds. This class is appropriate for all levels of ability and experience.

 

POWER CORE

This BLYS signature format combines vinyasa yoga with moves designed to isolate and strengthen the true core. Props like blankets, gliders, and blocks are incorporated, in addition to a high-octane playlist!

PRENATAL YOGA

Research shows that practicing yoga during pregnancy offers numerous benefits for women and their babies. It's also a great way to connect with other mothers-to-be and establish friendships that go far beyond the birth.

 

YIN YOGA

Yin yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Students hold poses for 3-5 minutes, and incorporate props to create as little effort as possible.

VINYASA I

This slow-paced flowing practice is perfect for those who are either new to vinyasa yoga or prefer a gentler, more descriptive class.

 

VINYASA II

​Vinyasa II is perfect for seasoned beginners and intermediate practitioners who are ready to expand their practice. Expect introductions to inversions and arm balances, in addition to mindful breath work.

 

ALL LEVELS VINYASA

All Levels Vinyasa is a mixed-levels class that moves at a quicker pace than Vinyasa 1 but offers more modifications than a typical Vinyasa II class.

VINYASA EXPRESS

​This early morning 45-minute class takes place on the dock at Annapolis Sailing School May through September and inside of the heated studio the rest of the year.

 

POWER VINYASA

This dynamic style of yoga focuses on building strength and endurance. Power Vinyasa is a music-driven, flowing class that takes place in a room heated to 95 degrees. Students will leave feeling powerful and invigorated!

FITNESS

BARRE

A BLYS barre class mixes elements of Pilates, ballet, yoga, and functional training. Use the barre and various props to sculpt, stretch and work up a sweat.

 

POWER BARRE

Want your barre with a little extra oomph? Power Barre brings longer holds, controlled breath work, and a burst of cardio to make your muscles shake a little longer.

 

BUTI

A combination of primal movement, power yoga and conditioning, this 45-minute class will leave you feeling revitalized and empowered. Expect an awesome playlist, too!

 

SCULPT

Push your strength and flexibility to new heights! Hand and ankle weights create resistance and added intensity, while an energizing playlist helps to motivate.

 

YOGA SCULPT

Boost metabolism and build lean muscle as you flow to upbeat tracks. This class combines free weights with BLYS vinyasa yoga sequencing and cardio to intensify each pose.

OUTDOOR CLASSES

During the spring and summer months, BLYS partners with Annapolis Sailing School to offer outdoor classes on a floating platform with to 380° water views!
