Kate started her path of self-discovery through yoga over 18 years ago when she was working as a corporate fitness specialist. Her BS in Kinesiology, the study of human movement, supplemented her training as she transitioned through both her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Power Yoga Works in Philadelphia, PA under the direction of Bill Raup, and subsequent 300hr Kunga Yoga Teacher Training at Wilmington Yoga Center in Wilmington, NC under the guidance and mentorship of Kristin Cooper Gulak.
In addition to being a 500hr ERYT, Kate is a certified 5 Elements Flow teacher and is currently studying to finish her Level 1 certification with Warriors At Ease, a program geared toward active duty military, veterans and their families. Her enthusiasm and capacity for yoga continue to expand as she is continually deepening her studies through workshops and own her practice. Kate has had the privilege of studying with Hillary Garivaltus, Former Dean of Ayurveda at Kripalu, Marlyssa Sulivan of Pranakriya Yoga Therapy, David Emerson, Deon De Wett, Michael “Mukti” Buck, Kristin Cooper Gulak, Donna Gardner and Kathryn Budig.
Kate has been able to use her 17 years of teaching experience and knowledge to lead workshops and yoga teacher training as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). In addition to her yoga teacher training, studio classes, and private clients, Kate also loves to mentor developing yoga instructors.
